The department of soil science is offering 5 UG courses since inception of the college (1991) with 12 credits .The department offered PG programme from 2010-11 to 2012-13.Till now 5 students had completed post graduation from the department. Agricultural Experiential Learning Programme (AELP) unit was offered by the department since 2010. From this academic year (2016) the department offering 16 credit hours for regular UG courses with the implementation of V dean Committee recommendations. Also the department offering 3 minor courses (9 Credits) for PG programme of department of Agronomy .The department is maintaining 2 laboratories for practicals both PG and UG courses .

Strengthened practical laboratories with latest equipments viz., PH meter, EC meter, Spectrophoto meter, Double distillationset, Eletronic balance, Flame photo meter ,Nitrogen dual distillation set etc.The department is presently one Assistant professor, one Teaching Associate, one office attender and one time scale worker. Any other information: As single teacher in the department, besides academic duties, I also served the college as Additional Warden for past seven years (May 2004 to Jan 2006 and From June 2009 to June 2014), Placement in charge for one year (1.6.2014 to 1.6.2015) and officer in charge of library 1.6.2016 on wards. Published 25 research articles and 12 popular articles in the department duly covering important aspects like sewage sludge, urban compost, FYM, vermicompost,biofertilizers, green manuring and potassium nutrition and their influence on crop yields and soil properties.
