The Department of Crop Physiology at the Agricultural College, Mahanadi was formally established in 1991 with the objectives of imparting undergraduate and graduate programs in Crop Physiology and also to undertake research in areas related to the physiology of crop plants. The major activity of the Department is teaching wherein it offers a total of 06 courses for UG programme from the academic year 2016 (17 credit hours) including one elective course (ELCT 362) with the implementation of V Deans Committee recommendations covering. In addition to the above the department also offers credits in the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) under Student READY programme.
The Department houses the facility of handheld Photosynthesis System CI-340, Leaf Area meter Li-COR, Chlorophyll Flourescence Meter, SPAD Chlorophyll Meter, Infrared Thermometer for conducting the abiotic stress research works.The department has well protected open top glass house where students can conduct the pot experiments.
